HOERBIGER has its training programme certified by TU Wien

An in-house training course has become an internationally recognised programme: HOERBIGER has had its reciprocating compressor training course assessed and certified by the TU Wien Academy.
On 20 May 2026, HOERBIGER received the quality seal from the TU Wien Academy for Continuing Education for its “Reciprocating Compressor Training Programme”. The programme is part of the Industry Qualification Programme that HOERBIGER has introduced worldwide. The award demonstrates how important standardised and recognised continuing professional development has become in the industry.
“The impetus for certification came from the market,” says Christian Prinz, Managing Director of HOERBIGER Wien GmbH. In many countries, particularly in the Anglo-Saxon world, proven continuing professional development is a prerequisite for skilled workers to maintain their professional status. Those who complete a certified programme simultaneously gain recognised evidence of further training.
For HOERBIGER, there was also an intrinsic motivation: to further professionalise its own offering. “With certification, we have the certainty that we can offer the same standard globally,” says Prinz. Whether the training centre is in Vienna, the Far East or the USA: the quality should be identical everywhere.
The fact that the move towards certification was the right one is also demonstrated by the rising demand – the first customers are already integrating the programme into their own training programmes. Internationally active companies benefit from this in particular. Prinz: “It is particularly interesting for companies that are export-oriented, that extend their reach slightly beyond the DACH region.” With this certification, HOERBIGER is strengthening its position in the face of international competition – particularly in markets where formal qualifications play a key role.
